Metro Health's Oral Health Program is focused on improving the oral health of children in San Antonio.

Providing oral evaluations and preventive dental services to children are key components of the program.

The program also works with parents and caregivers to ensure children in need of dental treatment are connected to care in the community, including those that are uninsured or underinsured.

Benefits of Preventative Care

Oral Evaluation
An exam of patient's mouth and face to identify tooth decay or other dental conditions that may require further treatment. Oral evaluations are only done by a licensed dentist.
Fluoride Varnish
Fluoride makes teeth stronger. It is easily applied with a brush and is painless.
Dental Sealants
Dental sealants "seal out" germs to prevent cavities on molars (back teeth). Sealants are easy to apply and do not hurt. Most cavities can be prevented with dental sealants and fluoride varnish.
